Parks for tourists in madrid

Spectacular attractions in Madrid

The beautiful capital of Spain is one of the most attractive cities you have ever visited. The city has hundreds and hundreds of attractions, but the parks occupy a very important place on the list as they represent the place where the tourists go to relax, running away from the agitation of the city. The parks in Madrid are different from each other but they have one common point: they all give you the peace and quiet that you are looking for.

Jardin Botanico

Jardin Botanico or if you prefer the English term, the Botanical Gardens represent a spectacular oasis in the middle of the concrete. If you want to visit the gardens, you should find the Prado Museum because the entrance is situated right next to it: it is the Glorieta Murillo Gate. Tourists love the gardens due to the fact that they contain 30,000 species of beautiful plants and trees that represent all the continents of the world. Charles III ordered the construction of the Gardens because he wanted to help the Totany Faculty. You can have relaxing walks along the avenues that cross the garden from one corner to the other and you also have the chance to learn the Latin names of any plant or tree you want because they are all labeled.

Parque Del Retiro

This is probably the most famous park in Madrid and also its largest one. The park covers 130 hectares of land and tourists absolutely adore its rose garden. In the centre of the park you will find the beautiful artificial lake which offers you the possibility to relax in a row boat and the avenues are decorated with sculptures that illustrate Queens and Kings that ruled the country at one moment or another throughout the centuries.

Casa de Campo

This park patiently waits for its visitors on the right side of the beautiful and now famous Manzanares River. The park attracts tourists with its artificial lake, with the sports courts where they can practice tennis or swimming and with the amazing Zoo that children love.

Rosales and the Oeste Park
Rosales and Oeste are two parks where tourists can take their children to play and have fun. The shady trees cover spectacular sandy avenues where playing is the most important activity. If you want something for the villa blanes grownups, go to the southern part of the city because it hosts the rose gardens.

Barcelona and its beaches

A wonderful place to spend some relaxing time

Barcelona is the city that hosted the 1992 Olympic Games and it is this event that determined the local authorities to clean the area around the city and all its beaches in order to transform them into big attractions for tourists. Now, the beaches around Barcelona represent great places for relaxation and a lot of fun, so try not to miss them if you visit the city.

Nova Icaria and Bogatell

Nova Icaria is the beach that stands the closest to the picturesque marina, so if you have other options, choose them because this beach gets very crowded, especially during the peak season. However, its promenades are packed with exquisite restaurants where you can taste some of the most delicious traditional dishes, so it would be a good idea to visit this beach at least for its food. Bogatell is one of those beaches where you do not feel like you are close to a big city because there is almost no noise. After you relax on the sandy beach, try the stone walkway which offers you the possibility to jog, use the roller blades or the bicycle.

Mar Bella and Barceloneta

Mar Bella is a naturist beach in Barcelona; in fact it is the only one of this type in the entire city. This beach is famous for being the perfect place for having fun with kayaks and it is also a great place for those who love windsurfing. Barceloneta is great for those who are young because it is a very jolly beach which has numerous fast food restaurants of an American style that everyone who is young loves.

Going to the beaches around Barcelona

If you do not like the crowded beaches near Barcelona, you should know that the offer around the city is very rewarding. You should try, for example, the beaches in Sitges because they all offer great facilities and conditions and they never get overcrowded, even if you travel to Spain during the peak season. If you are one of those tourists who prefer a nudist beach, try Fragata or Ribera, I am sure you will love them. If you do not want to get too far from Barcelona, go to Caldetes; the beach has great facilities and conditions and the village is absolutely charming; you will have a wonderful time there. You should visit location costa blancaSpain and Barcelona, it really is a wonderful country and the city is amazing.

Nightlife in seville

An entertaining city

Seville receives millions of visitors every year; people come from all the corners of the world to visit the spectacular Spanish city where they can never get bored. Seville stands out due to the fact that it is that type of city where you need days and days in order to complete all the things that you wanted to do; to see all the places, visit all the monuments and buildings, discover all its narrow and cobbled streets and all its modern avenues. Seville is a very active city, an entertaining one and some would even say restless. I personally think it is the perfect holiday destination for someone who dreams about a memorable vacation.

Nightlife in Seville

All the inhabitants of the city, exactly like all the inhabitants of Spain, have wonderful tastes and know how to have a lot of fun and how to enjoy the pleasure of this life. Free time is something very valuable for Spaniards and the inhabitants of the beautiful Seville are no exception to the rule. This is the reason why Seville has dozens and dozens of places where tourists can have some fun especially when night comes. For example, if you go around the Cathedral when evening arrives, you will see thousands of people trying to get a place in one of the quiet bars or in one of the many cafeterias. If you want to start your night with a good drink without taking the risk of getting drunk, then go to the district of Santa Cruz or visit the busy street of Argote de Molina. Those who feel the energy pumping into their veins should visit Betis Street or Alfalfa Street, because these are the places where you find agitated bars and discos where especially the young ones go to listen to some good music and to dance. When the fun is over in the clubs and the discos, the Julio Caesar Street and the Marques de Paradas Street still wait for tourists to continue their drinking and their fun. When summer comes, tourists get out from their villas and hotel rooms and spend pleasant and relaxing hours on one of the many open-air terraces that wait for you with refreshments and a lot of good mood.ferienhaus costa blanca  There are also many night shows that you can watch, so don’t worry about boredom, because I assure you it will not exist in Seville.

THE SPECTACULAR FESTIVALS OF BARCELONA

Enjoying the Barcelona festivals

All the festivals in Barcelona are full of color, music, dancing and, of course, joy but the most famous festival of them all is the La Merce, the festival that celebrates the patron saint of the city. If you want to schedule your holiday according to this festival, then you must include the 23rd and 24th of September. However, the festivals in Barcelona start in January and end in December, so all year round you have the opportunity to participate in one of them.

A few interesting festivals

The first festival in Barcelona takes place on the 6th of January. It is Three Kings Day, the day when children are excited to receive their Christmas presents. February is the month in which people celebrate Santa Eulalia, the co-patron saint of the city. It is celebrated on the 12th day of the month and thousands of people gather together in front of the spectacular Cathedral of Santa Eulalia with flowers, open hearts and a lot of joy in their souls. The 23rd of April is Saint George’s Day, something very similar to what tourists know as Valentine’s Day. It is celebrated by having women receive roses from men and men receiving books from women. It is a wonderful show to see with all the flowers and books at every street corner. June is a very prolific month as far as festivals. No less than three festivals are celebrated in June. The first one is the Music Festival, followed by the Saint Joan festival that celebrates the summer solstice and the end of June. August is the time for the Saint Montjuic Festival, which lasts for eight days, starting on the 23rd of August and finishing on the 29th of August. In September, people celebrate on its 11th day the national day of Cataluña, a day marked by dozens of ceremonies. October has the Cava Week, starting on the 4th day of the month and finishing on its 12th day, to celebrate the grape harvest. The very first day of November is All Saint’s Day, a day when all Spaniards go to the cemetery and light candles to honor their loved ones who have passed away. Last, but not least, comes December, with the Navidad (Christmas Day) and the New Year celebrations. It is a lovely time of the year when tourists can enjoy the beauty of the decorations and the delicious, seasonal dishes at ferienhäuser costa brava

Going to alicante for lucentum

A spectacular place in Spain

Spain is one of the most amazing countries not only in Europe, but in the entire world. It is one of those places where tourists love to go on their holidays because it is a sure thing that they will find something of their taste, whatever that taste is. Alicante is one of the spectacular places in Spain that has to be visited because it is one of the most popular, famous and beautiful resorts on the Costa Blanca. Alicante attracts tourists with its entertainment opportunities: the word ‘’boredom’’ has nothing to do with the vocabulary of those who visit this holiday resort.

Alicante’s attractions

Alicante is a very modern holiday resort, but this does not mean that it does not have sightseeing spots and old buildings and monuments that deserve your attention. For example, a very popular sightseeing monument is the City Hall; it is a fantastic building displaying a very special Baroque style that will impress you with the beauty of the twin towers. A few words about Lucentum

Lucentum is one of the most important sightseeing attractions in Alicante; if you are not one of those who are visiting Alicante for its beaches, then you surely are one of those tourists who chose Alicante for Lucentum, the spectacular ancient IberoRoman town. The remains of the wonderful Roman city can easily be found in Tossal de Manises, very close to the beach of Albufereta. This is one of the most fascinating open air museums in Spain, a place where you will find out a lot of interesting details regarding the past of the country. Top Attraction points in andalusia

Special Spanish holidays

For those who love to backpack, Andalusia can transform into a heaven on earth. The southern province is a unique and rather exotic combination of pure Spanish traditions and roots coming from the African continent. It is one of those places where you can spend months and months and never get bored. The most attractive characteristic of Andalusia for backpackers is represented by its hostels which are numerous and offer wonderful conditions, so they can fully take advantage of that.

Visiting Malaga and Seville

The port city of Malaga represents one of the biggest attractions of the province; it does look like an utterly commercial place, but if you give it credit, you easily realize that it is an authentic city that is fighting to keep its traditions and its pure essence alive. While in Malaga, make sure that you visit the Old Town with its imposing monuments; the Cathedral, the Moorish Alcazaba and last but not the least, the charming winding streets. Seville will definitely impress you with its Giralda tower, the Cathedral and the Moorish monuments, including the palace. The flamenco is one of the most popular traditions in Seville, so if you choose to spend a few hours in one of the bars that offer live shows, you will find the time spent there a very pleasant one. Both Malaga and Seville have a wonderful offering of hostels, so there is nothing to prevent you from visiting them!

Granada

On the list of cities to visit in Andalusia, Granada occupies a top place. The city is stunning: the places that surround it are scenic and the Alhambra Palace is a magnificent monument that stands on the ‘’once in a lifetime to visit’’ list. Once you step on the streets of Granada, you fall into its magical spell. It really feels like you are in one of the fairytales that your mother used to tell you when you were a child, this is how beautiful Granada is!

The wonders of Andalusia

For a person who is in love with backpacking, Andalusia is a paradise. The olive groves, the stonewalls which are ferienhaus lloret de mar stunning even if they are dry and the whitewashed towns create an idyllic landscape that will charm you and make you wish to go back there again at least once. Give a chance to this beautiful province because it is a place where you can collect memories for a lifetime.

The religious face of santiago de compostela

Spanish wisdom and holiness

Spain is one of the three countries in the world that has a holy city; Santiago de Compostela proudly occupies a holy place together with Rome and Jerusalem as Saint James (which in Spanish is translated as Santiago) lived a big part of his life here and did missionary work. The legend of the Spanish holy city is not complicated: after Jesus Christ was crucified, Saint James chose Galicia to do his missionary work. Because the Christian religion was not recognized during those times, Saint James was beheaded in the Holy Land but his remains were taken to Galicia by the ones who followed and believed him. It seems like he was buried there, but his remains were discovered in 813 by a Christian hermit. During his rule, King Alphonso II ordered the construction of a church on the place where the remains of Saint James were discovered. It is this church, now an imposing Cathedral that attracts pilgrims from all over the world in their attempt to find redemption.

All roads lead to Santiago de Compostela

The famous and popular Way of Saint James that ends in Santiago de Compostela unites a series of other religious routes: the French Way, the route that comes to Spain crossing the Pyrenees, the Silver Route that connects Galicia and Andalusia, the Northern Route that comes from the Basque country, the Maritime Routes that take pilgrims from Northern Europe to the holy city and last but not the least, the Portuguese Way that comes from Oporto. People have followed these routes for centuries in their holy trip to Santiago de Compostela. Some of the pilgrims take the decision to walk the entire route, which usually takes them about two weeks. However, you should know that this is not a rule: you can walk only the last 100 kilometers or horse ride along the last 200 kilometers. It is the idea and the intention that matters for the entire concept of the pilgrimage. What you have to keep in mind is that in ferienwohnungen spanien Santiago de Compostela, you are not alone. Around 600 pilgrims arrive to the Cathedral on a daily basis and if it happens to be a Holy Year (that is the 25th of July, the day that celebrates Saint James falls on a Sunday), the number can go high up to 2700 pilgrims. That is impressive, isn’t it?

Spending time in beautiful valencia

Visiting Spain

Millions of people from all the corners of the world rush to Spain every year; they do it attracted by the absolutely amazing country. Spain is described as being the European country of contrasts: it has high mountain peaks which are covered by snow all year long as well as shallow, crystal clear waters; it also has small and cozy traditional villages and big cities where the modern and the cosmopolitan win. It is absolutely impossible not to fall in love with Spain, so take into consideration visiting it at least once in your lifetime because it is worth it!

A beautiful city in Spain

Valencia is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. Even though it has a very modern aspect, the biggest attraction of the city is represented by its amazing history. The most important aspect in the history of Valencia is the Moorish occupation, which surprisingly lasted for a very long time; only Granada was occupied for a longer period of time by the Moors. The occupation left a series of traces which are still visible today and an important heritage which makes Valencia such a special Spanish city.

A long list of sightseeing attractions

Sightseeing is a very important activity in Valencia. You will find most of the important monuments gathered around the centre of the city. Some of them patiently wait for their visitors in the Ayuntamiento Square; others surround the Cathedral while the rest of them are hosted by the Barrio del Carmen, the historical district of Valencia. In addition to the great number of monuments that you will find in the District, the Jardines Del Turia represents a place that you are not allowed to miss: the lush gardens are absolutely spectacular; spending time on their alleys is like seeing how heaven looks like. The Miguelette is the Tower of the Cathedral and it represents a major point of attraction for all tourists as it is the emblem of Valencia. De La Virgen Square is another important place where you definitely have to go because it is packed with pavement cafes where delicious tapas can be tasted by you. The Square is very interesting on weekends, when you might have the chance to see a traditional ferienwohnung spanien wedding (actually, the participants heading towards the church). I am sure that all those who visit Valencia fall in love with it, so why shouldn’t you be one of them?

Having a life in spain

A wonderful country

Spain is one of the countries in the world where ‘’diversity’’ makes the rules. It is not difficult to understand why Spain is such a popular country among tourists from all the corners of the world: it is a beautiful place, with a huge range of entertainment opportunities, perfect for a holiday. But have you ever thought about moving to Spain? It is true that it is a wonderful place to retire and even a wonderful place for a holiday house, so here is what you should know about it!

A few details about the country

If you move, for example, on the sunny Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante, you will be surrounded by a laid back atmosphere that seems to be the result of those 320 sunny days you receive every year. Spain has a series of advantages for those who consider moving there. One of the biggest advantages of the country is its health system. You should know that healthcare is similar to that in Great Britain and superior to that in the USA, in both technology and costs. If you move to Spain and get registered at the town hall, you get free medical assistance. One other sector has great advantages in Spain: the house purchasing. It is clear that when you move to another country, you need a place to live. Well, purchasing a house in Spain is a very easy process. Nevertheless, you should use the services of a lawyer in order to make sure that there are no irregularities with the house you intend to purchase. Last but not the least on the list of advantages is the weather. Imagine how great it is to live in a place where the temperatures in November are up to 20 degrees Celsius!

Disadvantages

There is also a list of disadvantages for those who want to move to location en espagne Spain. If you are not retired, but an adult looking for work and with a family to support, moving to Spain might not be a good idea! It will be difficult to find a job unless you speak Spanish perfectly and probably German and your children will have to adapt to a completely new school system and a new language. This makes things very difficult, so think twice before taking a new step! You might get to the point where you regret it.

Madrid and its day trips

The capital of Spain

It is very easy to understand why Madrid is the capital of Spain: besides being a city with a very rich historical, cultural and archaeological heritage, its location allows tourists to choose from a very long list of day trips. These day trips will help you understand what type of country Spain is and get into its purest essence.

A few interesting day trips

One of the most popular day trips from Madrid is the one to Barcelona. This is a perfect day trip for those who want to see the capital but also feel attracted by Gaudi’s works. But it is not a day trip for any pocket; you have to take two high speed trains in just one day, so it is pretty expensive. Another very popular day trip from Madrid is the one to the former capital of the country: Toledo. The city attracts tourists because of the fact that it kept its medieval spirit alive. Day trip number three takes you to Seville which is as expensive as the one to Barcelona but very rewarding in terms of sightseeing and cuisine. As interesting as the ones already mentioned are the day trips to Cordoba and Valencia, which represent the nearest cities where you can enjoy the beach. The story of Segovia is one with fairytales and princes: the city with its castle and the Roman aqueduct seems to be taken from a story. Avila and El Escorial are two day trips that deserve your attention because they will definitely charm you with their medieval walls and the impressive architecture of the monasteries. Aranjuez is a beautiful royal residence while Salamanca attracts tourists for a day with its spectacular university.

Other day trips that deserve attention

Cuenca is a must on the list of day trips from Madrid as the hanging houses will steal your hearts away. When it comes to El Pardo, the main attraction is that it represents the place where General Franco chose to retreat. Consuegra location espagne is worth the effort for the windmills while the cuisine in Chinchon will take you up to heaven, this is how delicious it is. Alcala de Henares is famous for being the place where the great Miguel Cervantes was born and Buitrago is the meeting point for a series of cultures that left their fingerprints on the entire country. Take these day trips into consideration because you will be able to learn a lot from each one of them.

Toleda : An interesting city toleda

Toledo as a tourist destination

When you first ask a Spaniard about Toledo, the description you'll get is that you are about to visit a huge museum. Well, it is true - Toledo is one of the most important cities in Spain, one of the first to be declared a National Monument. The Spanish Government decided to put it on the list of National Monuments due to the fact that Toledo has a spectacularly well preserved historical parts. Almost all the historical buildings belonging to several periods are still alive and always ready to receive their visitors.

The history of an amazing place

Toledo was ruled by several civilizations that left their impression on everything that represents the city: the buildings, the streets, and the atmosphere. The Romans made Toledo look like a fort, the aqueduct and the amphitheater date back to the period of the Romans, a period when the infrastructure of the city was built. The Goths are the ones who transformed Toledo into the capital of their new empire, right after they conquered Spain in the sixth century. The Moors brought to Toledo their typical Oriental spirit - the influence of the Moors is visible in the several mosques built in the tenth century, monuments that are still visited and impress with their architecture and the care for details that characterizes them. The town’s gates, which were built around the 12th century, are the only remnants of Toledo as a fort. The Reconquest period started for Toledo in 1085. Alfonso the Sixth decided, just like the previous rulers of the region, that Toledo should be the town hosting the capital of his empire. This is the period when the Mudejar style made its appearance in the town, the period when the beautiful and popular San Vicente and San Roman were built. Toledo’s Cathedral is probably one of the most amazing monuments of the town, a building which displays Mudejar decorations but which is, at the same time, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture.

The 15th century is one of the most important ones for Toledo. This is the century when Toledo was replaced by Madrid for the capital of Spain location blanes , but also the century when several museums were founded and hundreds of buildings displaying the Renaissance architecture were built.

Those who visit Toledo immediately fall in love with the town. Be one of them and a memorable holiday is guaranteed.

Granada - A pearl in the spanish crown granada

A short description of a beautiful city

Granada is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating cities in Spain. People come here attracted by the Moorish beauty that seems to surround not only the city, but its inhabitants and its customs. However, don’t expect the city to be as beautiful and as attractive as the Alhambra, because that is not the case. It is true that there are beautiful places in the city that deserve your attention, but nothing can compare to the great fortress that made Granada world-renowned.

A few words about the Alhambra

For those who don’t yet know, a complex of palaces built by the Moors is what you will find at the Alhambra. The Moorish architecture is one of the most impressive types of architecture in the world, one that stresses detail and elegance, so prepare yourself to be stunned once you cross the gates of the fortress. The palaces were home to the Nasrid dynasty for more than two centuries, between 1232 and 1492. This particular dynasty managed to rule large parts of Spain for a very long time. This rule was a very prosperous one as the Moors tried to help the province grow and develop. It will be obvious that they knew what they were doing when you have your first encounter with the opulence of the Alhambra.

Points of interest in the city

Granada has a few monuments that deserve your attention apart from the Alhambra. One of these monuments is the 16th century Santa Ana Church, displaying a beautiful Mudejar style. The Old University, dating back to the 17th century, and the Sacromonte Abbey also deserve a bit of your time. You might choose to see the gypsy caves, Las Cuevas del Sacromonte, or the old Moorish quarter of the city, El Albaicin, with its fascinating architecture. The sightseeing list continues with the Puerta del Elvira, the gate which formed part of a Moorish wall.

When you decide to spend a few days in vakantiewoning costa brava Granada, you should realize that the city has its pros and cons. The impressive Alhambra is definitely an advantage, but you should realize that the city is also an important center for flamenco dancers; an additional advantage of Granada is the opportunity to get more familiar with one of the most important dance traditions in the country. The disadvantage is the fact that there are not many entertaining activities for children, so families might have to reconsider visiting here.

Hiring a car

Spain is a country where tourism works perfectly; it has millions of tourists every year, people from all the corners of the world. Some of these tourists want to see more than the city they decided to visit, so they need to hire a car. Well, this might seem like an easy thing, but trust me: you need a few tips in order to avoid any unpleasant situation. The first thing that you have to pay attention to when hiring a car is to find out what types of facilities are included in the price and what types are not. You might be attracted by a wonderful price, but you should know that it can trick you because there is the possibility of that price not including the local taxes or the insurances.

What a rental should include

When you rent a car, make sure that the price includes things such as the airport taxes, a third party insurance for any unwanted situation, local taxes and breakdown costs and last but not the least, an unlimited mileage.

Important things

When you travel to Spain, keep in mind the fact that you will be in a country with days of over 40 degrees Celsius. This means that the air conditioning is a must for your rental, unless you want to die of heat. Those who travel with children will also have to hire the seats for an extra cost of €3 for a day. Take everything into consideration, even the amount of luggage you have! You will be surprised to realize that the same model of car differs in dimension from one back home. Another very important thing when hiring a car in a foreign country like Spain is checking everything! Always double check the price, read the paperwork carefully, verify whether you really received the model you asked for. There is no over exaggeration when it comes to renting a car. You should even check the car for any small damage because there have been cases where tourists found themselves in very unpleasant situations. One other important thing for you, the foreign tourist: in Spain ferienhaus costa blanca , you will have to drive a lot, especially if you want to see a big part of the country, so choose a diesel model because it will be cheaper. Starting a vacation from Granada

Southern Spain is the region that is home to the beautiful city of Granada. Granada is a very special place in Spain because it represents an interesting combination of modern features and historical monuments which help any visitor make an incursion into the history of the country. This charming combination attracts a large number of different types of tourists. Taking into consideration that Granada has an impressive offering of bars, restaurants, pubs and cafes which serve traditional dishes, including the famous tapas, you can easily understand why so many people choose Granada for their holiday destination.

Having fun and eating tapas

Lots of tourists enjoy the hours spent in a bar or a pub because they have the opportunity to taste the different types of tapas and catch up on time spent with friends. The tapas represent traditional Spanish food and are actually appetizers containing any ingredients you can think of. In Granada, the most popular types of tapas are those that contain seafood.

Students love Granada because it is a city that knows how to combine its historical aspects with the modern needs of young people, so the nightlife is satisfying. Unmistakably the most important attraction in Granada is the Alhambra, the exquisite fortress displaying Moorish and Christian elements. It is an outstanding monument, probably among the most important ones in the entire country. Thousands of years have passed since the walls of the fortress were built, but the Alhambra still has the power to overwhelm you once you cross through its gates. You can’t imagine what wonders await you on the other side of its walls: superb fountains, lush gardens with cool, romantic and very intimate paths where you can spend some pleasant time with your significant other or spend time putting your thoughts in order.

Spanish Holidays in Extremadura

Trips to Spain

For those who want a special holiday on the European Continent, Spain is an exquisite choice. Rumors that Spain is one of the most beautiful countries in the world are not simply rumors, they are facts. In order to convince yourself about it, you have to see it with your own eyes. If you already know that Spain is your holiday destination, but the exact part of Spain to visit is a total mystery to you, I strongly recommend Extremadura.

Extremadura has Merida as its capital and consists of two provinces: Caceres and Badajoz. In Extremadura, Merida is a must on your list of places to visit, because the Roman ruins are absolutely spectacular. The Romans turned Extremadura into a very important part of the country, giving it important roles. Since the region was of great importance for the entire country, the capital also received an important role and became a main city. A few decades later, the region was obliged to play the role of being a border between the Moors and the Christians and their empires, but with the famous discovery of America, there was some relief.

Extremadura is a beautiful region of Spain, with landscapes that vary from high mountain ranges such as the Sierra Morena or Cardillera Central, to vast plains and valleys which belong to the Tajo and Guadiana Rivers. The climate is not as welcoming in winters as it is in other parts of Spain, because it is a continental one, with hot summers, but cold winters. Not too many tourists choose Extremadura for their holiday destination, which makes it a very relaxed and detached experience, far from all the noise and agitation of mass tourism. However, when you visit it, you will be impressed by the beauty of their traditions, with their colorful and lively costumes and by the beauty of the ceramics and metal handmade objects.

The main attractions

The region has a few important cities which deserve your attention. Merida is of course the main attraction, with its Roman ruins, such as the aqueducts, the colossal Theatre or the bridge. Guadalupe is also very nice and world-renowned for being the city where the great Pizarro was born. Plasencia is worth visiting for the Cathedral which displays Gothic and Plateresque elements, while the Mudejar style is hosted by location villa lloret  Guadalupe.

Have lots of fun in your holiday and enjoy every single moment of it!

The Hidden History of Santiago De Compostela

Places to spend wonderful holidays

Spain is a country that deserves your attention, one of those places on the European continent which you must visit at least once in your lifetime. The province of Galicia is where the amazing Santiago de Compostela is located. The main reason why people visit Santiago de Compostela, and why it is so renowned, is because it represents the final destination in a long pilgrimage, the one known as the Way of Santiago. The city received its name from Apostle James (“James” in Spanish is “Santiago”) who spent a large part of his life visiting these places, trying to convince people to convert to the Christian religion. When he finished his mission in Spain, he returned to Palestine, but he was killed. Because the King didn’t allow his burial, the disciples took his body and buried it on the coast of Spain, inside the trunk of a tree. In 813 AD, the body was discovered in the wood and the person who discovered it described the discovery as something that was shining (Compostela can be translated as field of stars). This is the legend of how the city received its name. As a result of the shining discovery, the Bishop Teodomiro ordered further investigations, so this is the story of how the tomb of Apostle James was found. Saint James became the patron of the city and the chapel built in his honor still exists.

Legends of Santiago de Compostela

Thousands of witnesses affirm the fact that they have been assisted in a series of miracles and they all say that it is Saint James who performed them. The legend says that Saint James even fought on the side of the famous King Ramiro I, who wanted to re-conquer the city from the Moors. Every year the number of pilgrims who visit the city in order to spend peaceful time in the proximity of Saint James’ tomb gets higher and higher. Because of the fact that the city was of great religious importance during the 12th and the 13th centuries, Pope Alexander III decided that it deserves the status of a Holy Town. This is how Santiago de Compostela became equivalent in religious importance to Jerusalem or Rome. Santiago villa huren spanje is a wonderful city, not only for those who are religious persons, but  also for any tourist who likes to know details related to the history of Spain.

It is also one of the few places in the world where you can go skiing on one of the high mountain peaks in the morning, and bathe in the warm water of the Mediterranean Sea in the afternoon (the sea lies at the foot of the mountains.) There is also a long list of palaces and castles, churches and cathedrals, monasteries and museums, all displaying different and very special architectural styles.

Some famous places in Spain

Who hasn’t heard about Madrid, the capital of Spain?  But do you also know that it is the perfect place for shopping, famous for its elegant shops offering all the big brand names? And do you know that Madrid is a place known for the best in music, for the abundance of bars and pubs and for the impressive number of museums? An impressive Archipelago: The Gran Canarias

An unusual place in Spain

Spain: the wonderful country that has a little bit to offer to any tourist who visits it. Spain has high mountains, shallow crystal clear waters, sunny beaches, historical towns, modern cities and traditional white fishing villages, interesting architecture and an amazing cultural and artistic heritage. How can one not love this country? The Gran Canarias Archipelago is one of the most beautiful places in Spain; it is a place where influences belonging to five continents are felt as a large list of civilizations left their fingerprints on its buildings, architecture, aspect, spirit, gastronomy, traditions, art and culture. The atmosphere is so lively, so full of energy that someone who comes from outside immediately feels the difference between the temperament of those who live in the southern part of the continent and those who come from cold places. It seems like Spaniards have the tendency to take life not as seriously as others do, so this is why the atmosphere is so relaxed.

Sightseeing in the Gran Canarias

The icon of the archipelago is the old Gothic Cathedral. The Cathedral is also a wonderful example of Neoclassical architecture and considering the fact that the construction of the monument began right after America was discovered, think about the fact that when you see it, you will have in front of your eyes one of the oldest monuments in the region. An interesting place in the town is the old quarter; this quarter represents the part of the Gran Canarias which displays the Latin American influenced manorial houses. Those who are interested in the history of the town, “Columbus’ House” is the perfect place for them; now turned into a museum, the building celebrates the life of the great Christopher Columbus, the historical figure of great importance not only for the Americans, but also for humanity. If you want to see the typical architecture of the island, the part that has no influences from other cultures, visit the Pueblo Canario, a complex of gardens created by the famous Nestor de la Torre. The sightseeing list should continue with the Arts Museum and the Perez Galdos Museum which is housed in the building where the popular writer lived. The Gran Canarias is the most famous Spanish Archipelago vakantiehuizen lloret de mar, one that attracts thousands of tourists from all the corners of the world. Visit it and convince yourself of its beauty!

A Short Tour Of Valencia

Spanish attractions

Is there a country more beautiful than Spain? It seems that for the millions of tourists from all the corners of the world who visit it every year the answer is simple: ''no, there isn't''. Well, it is easy to understand their option, thinking that Spain is a land of contrasts, but beautiful ones: it has high mountain peaks perfect for any winter sport and shallow, crystal clear waters with white and delicate sands on sunny coasts, it also has traditions old as the world and very modern, even futuristic cities which display a very new, but beautiful architectural style. The number of possibilities for tourists is huge, especially those concerning the cities. If you really want to go to a city a little less agitated than the big metropolises but a city to keep your interest at a high level, choose Valencia.

Things you need to know about Valencia

The biggest part of the tourists who visit Valencia come from abroad; when their plane is exactly over the city, the first thing that pops into their eyes is the huge green belt which represents a very fertile land, a belt that surrounds Valencia from all sides. The locals call it La Huerta and it represents a major interest for them because it is a huge source of money for them as up to 4 harvests are possible every year. While there, you have to visit the so called Barracas, traditional houses owned by those who work in agriculture, houses that reflect the way of living of their ancestors. They are built with clay and have roofs of rush, so this is the reason why not all of them survived, but there are a few which stand as living proof of the past of Spaniards. The areas covered with all types of cultures, starting with rice and continuing with olives and oranges are extremely romantic and picturesque, especially in the summer and in the autumn. You should also visit the Albufera Lake because the romantic village of Palmar is situated at its feet. If you want to see the Roman heritage, go to Sagunto ferienhäuser lloret de mar, where the ruins of the Roman theatre patiently wait for their visitors. Last but not the least, Jativa is a place that you have to see; it is a traditional town which still has remains dating back to each period of the country, so it is a very interesting mixture that you will definitely like.

A Sightseeing Holiday in Santiago de Compostela

The beautiful Galician city

Santiago de Compostela is the most important city in the province of Galicia, the city which represents the destination for the thousands of pilgrims who follow the Way of Santiago every single year. Santiago de Compostela is the perfect destination for the type of tourists who only want to sightsee, to discover the mysteries of the city, to get into its history and feel its spirit, its culture and its traditions. If you have already decided that Santiago de Compostela is your destination, then this is what you have to do: start your sightseeing list with the Obradoiro Square. Locals say that the name of the square comes from the Spanish “Obra de Oro’’ which can be translated into English as masterpiece or work of gold. The name seems to fit the looks and the entire aspect of the square because it really is a fantastic place, a place which shines over the entire city. The Cathedral you will find in the Obradoiro Square was built in 1075 and its construction coincides with the most important period in the history of the city. The Square also hosts the amazing Gelmirez and Rajoy Palaces as well as the Fonseca College, a 15th century Monastery.  The sightseeing list should continue with the Platerias Square, the place where the most beautiful silver objects can be bought. The square has a Gothic Cathedral which displays a Romanesque façade. The Quintana Square is famous for the Berenguela and the Reloj towers as well as the San Pelayo Monastery, which is also the oldest building you can find in Santiago de Compostela. Alphonse II ordered its construction in the 11th century in order to have a special place for the remains of Apostle James.

Continuing the exploration of the city

The Alzabacheria Square is another beautiful part of the city; this is the square where San Martin Pinario Monastery is found, dating back to the 16th century. The original building displayed a Gothic style, but what tourists visit today is a restoration done between the 17th and 18th centuries. The part of the city which surrounds the University is another attractive one, especially because it offers you the possibility of taking extremely romantic walks. Since you are there, visit the Monroy Palace and the Mondragon ferienhäuser lloret de mar Palace; they will take you into chambers of rare beauty.

A HISTORY OF THE MONUMENTS IN MADRID

A wonderful city, wonderful monuments

Madrid is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and the most important one since it is the capital of the country. Millions of people visit its museums, old buildings and streets, attracted by the impressive history that surrounds all of them. Another reason why it attracts so many tourists is probably because of the perfect combination of old and new; the two extremes mingle so well in the city that it is impossible not to adore it and fall in love with it from the first moment you see it. If you are interested in visiting the monuments of the city in the chronological order of their appearance, then you should start your trip with the 16th century monuments. The walls of the city date back before the 16th century and they represent the fortifications that the Moors and later the Christians built in order to protect the city; these fortifications were built in the 9th and the 10th century. The San Pedro and the San Nicolas Churches were also built before the 16th century and they are extremely

important for the city because they display two wonderful Mudejar Towers.

The 16th and the 17th century

The 16th century brought the beautiful Segovia Bridge and the famous Descalzas Reales Monastery; the monastery is famous because it displays exquisite plateresque facades and a unique Renaissance stair. The 17th century is one that made Madrid flourish from the architectural point of view. It is the century when the popular Plaza Mayor was built, the heart and soul of the city. It is also the period when the Encarnacion Monastery saw daylight as well as the Colegiata de San Isidro Church, a wonderful example of Baroque architecture.

Sightseeing the monuments of the 18th and the 19th century

Palacio Real was born in the 18th century; I think that there is no tourist who does not want to visit this fine example of Italian Baroque architecture. The 18th century is also the century in which the Prado Museum was built as well as the picturesque Botanical Gardens and the Puerta de Alcala. Last but not the least; the 19th century hosted the construction of the Puerta del Sol and the famous Zarzuela Theatre. The period when you decide to visit villa lloret Madrid does not matter, but you have to do it at least once in your lifetime because it is a spectacular city.

This is especially so if you are planning on staying for extended holidays of a month or so.

The next is to know what exactly you expect from the villa. If you are travelling with children then a look at the floor plans will be ideal. This will tell you how far apart the bedrooms are, how child-safe the home is and the like. You will also know from these plans the size of the lounge, living area, the bedrooms and even the outdoor space if it comes with the villa.
When you look for such villas go through a dependable rental service. This means you will have to look for one that comes well recommended. The best is to go on the advice of friends and family. Look into the credentials of a place and how many property rentals they have closed.
